4) Resources
A) WomenForHire.com
WomenForHire.com events enable leading companies to meet
one-on-one talented women in all disciplines. This is a true service at
a time when workplace diversity is essential and recruiting is challenging.
One-day events pair recruiters from a mix of Fortune 1000s, Internet companies,
non-profit organizations and government agencies with talented professionals
in all fields.
B) Women Matter
Women Matter is a comprehensive, searchable site related to women’s
health matters. It is offered by Health Net of California, a health insurance
provider.
C) Doulas of North America (DONA)
DONA is an international association of doulas trained to provide continuous
emotional, physical and educational support to women and their families
during childbirth and postpartum.
Studies show doula support can decrease labor’s length and reduce
interventions. It can increase the mother’s satisfaction with the
birth experience and her bonding with her baby.
To find a doula in your area go to the site’s ‘Locating a
Doula’ section.
