Every email community has it's active participants and it's 'lurkers.' For those of you out there 'lurking' (net-ese for being members on a list, but not posting), I encourage you to use our on-line community.

Some alumnae introduce themselves, post jobs, make requests and celebrate their accomplishments with the community and you can too! It's easier than you might think. Below are a few helpful tips to posting to our on-line community.

Address your email to iwlalumnae@egroups.com

In the subject line, use a descriptor for the topic of your email (i.e., job wanted, event, register, etc.) For other descriptors, see IWL's On-line Community.

Also, keep your subject description brief and include geographic info (i.e., job posting IWL Financial & Office Manager - Redwood City, CA (since we have alumnae located across the U.S. and Canada).

At the beginning of the email state who should be reply contact and provide the email and/or phone number. Also, request that responses not be sent to the entire list.

As a courtesy, if the responses you receive are likely to be useful to list members (i.e. good MBA program, dentist, hair dresser), please compile the list and post a summary email (with your thanks to contributors) for the whole list.

Keep you message brief and specific about your request, register for accomplishment, etc.

Please do not add attachments to your emails. Embed (i.e., cut and paste) the content within the body of your email. This prevents the spread of computer viruses.

As always, if you have any questions regarding content or use please feel free to drop us an email. We look forward to hearing from you on-line!
