Sindri Anderson (WLC 01/00) sindri.anderson@windriver.com plans to move to Greece for a year beginning in August. She shares her motivation and thinking this way, ‘Basically, I am looking to get off the ‘gerbil wheel.’ My mother is Greek, and I have visited there many times (I kind of speak the language) so it was the natural place to pick for our retreat. My vision is to just completely change the patterns, habits, pressures, etc. and reflect deeply on the next chapter of life. I am actually doing the hardest thing for me which, is to create a vacuum and see what enters. I really don’t know what will happen when I return, and that’s the point! I have two older daughters who are just college age, and a youngest who is turning six so it’s also a magic moment when the family is flexible and able to go abroad easily. And finally, at this moment in history, I believe it is essential to give myself and my children the benefit of living in another culture long enough to be able to look back at the U.S. with new insights into who we are as a people and nation.‘ As you prepare for and take your journey, we wish you and your family all the best, Sindri. Happy trails!

From Lori Daveggio (WLC 01/99): I am happy to announce that my husband, Gino and I welcomed our daughter, Grace Catherine Daveggio, to the world on February 27, 2003. She was 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and 18 3/4" in length at birth. Born 2 weeks early, Gracie surprised us all -- we had barely gotten our bags packed! It is amazing to see the new things she does every day.

I am very fortunate to have a nice long maternity leave -- I am scheduled to return to work at Fox Paine at the end of June, but I am also hoping to put together a work from home proposal, to allow for me to be with Gracie as much as possible. I would welcome input from any alumni who have experience with such proposals. Please contact me at ldaveggio@yahoo.com.

Wanda Davis (WLC 04/01) duz11da@comcast.net has left Cisco Systems to complete her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Change at Fielding College.

Bren Hudson (WLC 07/01) bhudson@san.rr.com, a recent graduate of New Ventures West's Professional Coaching Course in San Francisco, left Wind River Systems, to start The Centaur Group, her mentoring and coaching practice. She specializes in working with middle managers in becoming long-term performers who are self-correcting and self-generating. She's focusing on this level of management for three reasons: 1) they are often disillusioned and quite aware they need help, 2) they often get little direction, and 3) they often have little access to role models and mentors. To jumpstart her business she is offering half price coaching engagements for the first 3 months. This offer will expire June 30th, 2003. Call Bren at 858-336-6750 for more information.

Michèle Leblanc (WLC 05/02) blanchemichaels@yahoo.ca has retired from Bell Canada after 27 years of service. She writes, ‘Even though I'm only 48, I'm eligible for early retirement under Bell's latest Early Retirement Program and I'm seizing the opportunity! I want to take 3 to 6 months for myself, to think about what I want to do ‘when I grow up.’ There's a whole creative side of me that I have yet to explore.’ Best wishes to you, Michèle! Keep us posted on what you discover and create for yourself!

Kristin Rivers (WLC 12/02) kskorner@hotmail.com has returned to her first love -- public school teaching after 6+ years at Cisco Systems. More power to you, Kristin! The kids will be lucky to have you as their teacher!

Maisie Wong-Paredes (WLF 12/97) and Robert Paredes happily announce ‘there’s a new baby on the block’ with the birth of their second child, Jeremy Robert Paredes, on Jan 21, 2003. Jeremy weighed 7lbs, 1oz and was 20 inches long. Big brother, Joshua Alexander is now 2.5 years old. Maisie is on leave from Oculex until May 2003 (maisie_wp@yahoo.com).
