Dr. Colleen Brophy , ELSC January 2004, , was acknowledged as one of Arizona's Ten Tech People to Watch in 2004 by The Business Journal: Phoenix. Dr. Brophy is a research professor at Harrington Department of Bioengineering, Arizona State University, also is chief of vascular surgery at the Carl T. Hayden Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Phoenix, and is on the cutting edge of research in the area of vascular disease. She is also in charge of the Center for Protein and Peptide Pharmaceuticals at ASU's Arizona Biodesign Institute.

American Ballet Theatre and Casita Maria, the nonprofit that Executive Director and CEO Lue Ann Eldar , WLC 10/00, leads, hosted a joint event at the famed Apollo Theatre in January. The event was part of a strategy to recast and reposition the seventy year old Casita Maria organization to be relevant for the next seventy years. This event is one of many efforts that Lue Ann hopes will have a transformative effect for the mostly Latino community of the South Bronx and East Harlem, New York, Casita serves as well as the larger community of humanity.

Lorri Lee Lown , Schwab PLC 04/00, reports that Velo Girls, the Bay Area women's cycling club she founded and leads, was awarded the 2003 Women's Club of the Year by USA Cycling and has expanded to over 250 members across the Bay Area. One Velo Girls member also won the US National Cyclocross Championship in November 2003.
